Gotrade News - SoftBank Group shares surged 13% to a record 8,000 yen on Tuesday, the best Nikkei 225 performer. The rally extended a four-session winning streak fueled by AI optimism and ARM Holdings gains.

Lenovo also hit a record, climbing 18% to HK$18.7 as AI server revenue more than doubled year over year. Investors rotated into AI infrastructure names following NVIDIA's strong earnings print last week.

Key Takeaways

  • SoftBank gained 13% to a record 8,000 yen, lifted by ARM and OpenAI valuation tailwinds.
  • Lenovo soared 18% after AI server revenue rose 105% year over year last quarter.
  • Astera Labs, Marvell, and Credo emerged as AI infrastructure plays beyond NVIDIA.

According to Investing.com, SoftBank's rally was driven by gains following NVIDIA (NVDA) earnings. Arm Holdings (ARM), in which SoftBank holds roughly 90%, rose 2.78% during the same session.

SMBC Nikko raised its SoftBank price target to 8,500 yen from 5,200 yen, citing improving AI exposure. The brokerage flagged ARM contribution and OpenAI valuation as primary upside catalysts.

OpenAI Stake Powers SoftBank Profit

SoftBank's OpenAI position is now worth nearly $80 billion, generating roughly $45 billion in paper gains. The investment lifted March-quarter profit and reinforced CEO Masayoshi Son's aggressive AI capital deployment strategy.

Son has committed to expanding AI bets across semiconductors, data centers, and frontier model developers. The market is treating SoftBank as a proxy for the broader AI infrastructure trade.

As reported by Investing.com, Lenovo posted March-quarter revenue of $21.6 billion, up 27% year over year. Net profit jumped 479% to $521 million on AI server momentum.

Lenovo's infrastructure solutions division, which builds AI servers and data-center products, grew 37% to lead all segments. AI-related revenue climbed 105% and now accounts for one-third of group sales.

The company's PC, tablet, and smartphone segment also benefited from consumer pre-buying. Customers pulled forward purchases ahead of expected price hikes tied to memory chip supply constraints.

AI Infrastructure Names Beyond NVIDIA

Per The Motley Fool, three smaller AI infrastructure stocks are drawing investor attention. NVIDIA shares have soared more than 1,300% over the past five years, setting the benchmark for peer expectations.

Astera Labs carries a $53 billion market cap after Q1 FY2026 revenue of $308.4 million rose 93% year over year. Adjusted EPS climbed 84.8%, while the stock advanced 225% over the past year.

Marvell Technology (MRVL) sits at a $172 billion market cap, with FY2027 revenue guided near $11 billion, up 30%. Management projects $15 billion in FY2028 sales, supported by a $2 billion NVIDIA investment for custom chip integration.

Credo Technology rounds out the list at a $40 billion market cap. Q3 FY2026 revenue surged 201% to $407 million, with Q4 guidance of $425 million to $435 million.

The cross-asset rally underscores how AI infrastructure spending is filtering beyond chipmakers into servers, holding companies, and connectivity specialists. Investors appear willing to pay premium multiples for credible second-derivative AI exposure.
