Gotrade News - Antam gold prices slumped during Friday (06/03) trading. This drop cut short the market optimism that previously strengthened.

The precious metal fell by Rp 25,000 per gram. That figure brought the gold price down to Rp 3,024,000.

Key Takeaways:

  • Antam gold dropped by Rp 25,000 to Rp 3,024,000 per gram.

  • This local price weakness aligns with the surging US dollar.

  • The buyback price also weakened to Rp 2,787,000 per gram.

This local price drop aligns with global market trends. According to Refinitiv, global gold closed 1.14% lower on Thursday (05/03).

Global gold prices fell to US$ 5,076.59 per troy ounce. That position marks the lowest point in two weeks.

This valuable asset was pressured by the US dollar surge. That condition reversed the price gains seen last Wednesday.

However, gold prices are showing slight signals of recovery. By Friday (06/03) morning, prices rebounded 0.25% to US$ 5,089.

In the domestic market, the resale value also weakened. Antam's buyback price currently sits at the Rp 2,787,000 level.

That buyback price dropped by Rp 32,000 from yesterday. This reflects the direct impact of international market fluctuations.

Consumers are currently exempt from income tax on gold purchases. That policy refers to the PMK Number 48 of 2023.

However, businesses must still collect a 0.25% tax rate. This tax is calculated directly from the total selling price.

These benchmark prices apply at the Pulo Gadung boutique, Jakarta. Prices at other retail locations will very likely differ.
