Gotrade News - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa swiftly addresses issues with the Coretax taxation system. He emphasized the need to identify those suspected of reinstating vendors previously dismissed. Currently, approximately 9 million annual tax returns have been reported via Coretax, but around 7-8 million taxpayers have yet to file.

Purbaya expressed his concern upon learning that the Coretax system encountered issues again after a problematic vendor was dismissed. 'We also have some troublemakers here,' he remarked, indicating that someone had secretly re-introduced the vendor.

This issue is crucial as it pertains to the effectiveness of tax reporting, impacting public trust. Purbaya's swift actions are vital to maintain the stability and reliability of the national tax system.

The Finance Minister also touched upon the complicated Coretax interface, criticizing it for causing user difficulties and adding burdens to taxpayers filing their returns.

Meanwhile, Purbaya has encountered issues regarding his own tax return, disclosing an underpayment of IDR 50 million due to income from two different sources in one tax year.

This problem is expected to be resolved promptly to ensure all taxpayers can report their obligations on time. The extension of the reporting deadline to April 30, 2026, signifies the government's commitment to resolving these technical issues.

The system includes 15,677,209 active individual taxpayers among other categories. However, these technical issues could impede reporting speed and system effectiveness.

By thoroughly investigating those involved in the Coretax operation, Purbaya aims to restore trust in the system. This move also sends a strong signal against breaches of integrity in tax system management.

Tax system reforms like Coretax require close monitoring to prevent individuals from exploiting system weaknesses. Decisive actions like those taken by Purbaya are crucial to ensuring fairness in tax reporting.
