Hey Gotraders!
We’ve got an important update regarding your holdings in CureVac N.V. (CVAC).
As of January 7, 2026, CureVac has officially been acquired by BioNTech (BNTX). This transaction has now been completed, and the changes are reflected in your Gotrade portfolio.
Here’s a full breakdown of what this means for you.
What’s Happening?
An acquisition occurs when one company purchases another and integrates it into its business.
In this case, BioNTech (BNTX) has acquired CureVac (CVAC). Following the completion of this transaction, CureVac has ceased trading as a standalone public company.
As a result:
CVAC is no longer listed on the market
CVAC shares are no longer tradable
Instead, shareholders have received BioNTech shares based on the agreed exchange ratio.
How This Affects Your Gotrade Portfolio
Here’s exactly what has changed in your account:
1. Share Conversion Ratio
Your CVAC shares have been automatically converted into BioNTech (BNTX) shares according to the official distribution ratio:
1 CVAC share = 0.05363 BNTX shares
This means the number of BNTX shares you received depends on how many CVAC shares you previously owned.
Example:
If you owned 100 shares of CVAC
100 × 0.05363 = 5.363 shares of BNTX
Your Gotrade account now reflects the updated BNTX share balance based on this calculation.
If your conversion resulted in fractional shares, those are reflected accordingly in your portfolio.
2. Removal of CVAC Position
Since the acquisition has been finalized:
Your CVAC position has been removed
CVAC is no longer available for trading
Your portfolio now reflects BNTX as the continuing holding
Your total portfolio value has been adjusted and now reflects your BNTX holdings based on current market prices.
What Happens Next?
There’s nothing you need to do. The entire process has been completed automatically, including:
Conversion of CVAC shares into BNTX shares
Portfolio revaluation
Removal of CVAC from active holdings
You can view your updated holdings and portfolio balance anytime directly in your Gotrade app.
