Gotrade News - National revenue from the customs and excise sector through February 2026 decreased by 14.7% compared to the same period last year. The current revenue stands at Rp 44.9 trillion, down from Rp 52.6 trillion in February 2025.
The decline mainly stems from the excise sector, which dropped by 13.3% to Rp 34.4 trillion. This is due to the weakened production at the end of 2025, affecting early 2026 revenue. The government expects an increase in production to recover the revenue in the coming months.
Deputy Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara stated that there's an upward trend in production at the start of this year. With excise stamps valid for two months, excise revenue is expected to improve shortly.
On the other hand, export duty revenue saw a sharp decline. As of February 2026, export duty revenue was only Rp 2.8 trillion, a 48.8% drop, influenced by weakened crude palm oil prices.
Nonetheless, import duty revenue grew by 1.7% to Rp 7.8 trillion, driven by increased import activities.
In line with enforcing stricter regulations, Tanjung Priok Customs successfully intercepted illegal pangolin scale exports. This effort demonstrates a firm commitment to protecting natural resources.
The Head of Tanjung Priok Type A Customs and Excise Office, Adhang Noegroho Adhi emphasized the importance of law enforcement in protecting endangered species. This action aligns with directives from the President and the Finance Minister to clamp down on smuggling that harms state finances.
An inspection of 3,053 kg of pangolin scales was conducted with the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) of DKI Jakarta. The market value of the scales is approximately Rp 60 million per kilogram.
