The Indonesian government is offering significant discounts on transport tickets during the 2026 Eid homecoming period. This initiative is aimed at easing travel expenses for the public and supporting domestic economic activities.

It's important to realize that these discounts benefit not just travelers but also the movement of goods and services. This policy might be a crucial consideration for many local investors who rely on transport volume as a support factor.

Shifts in Eid Discount Policies

PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (PELNI) is offering a 30% discount on economy class ship tickets. This program is applicable across all routes, effective from March 11 to April 5, targeting 445,534 passengers. Meanwhile, Kereta Api Indonesia is also providing a 30% discount for economy class trains.

In the aviation sector, discounts have been increased to 17–18% from the previous year’s 13–14%. This fare policy applies to travel between March 14 and 29, with over 3.3 million passengers expected to take advantage of the program.

Economic Mobility Boost Strategy

PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry is offering a 100% discount on port charges, valid at 14 crossing ports. A 30% toll discount is also implemented on 25 toll roads during certain homecoming and return trip periods. All these measures aim to reduce congestion during the peak homecoming period.

The prospect of higher mobility during this Eid is anticipated to boost trade and consumption cycles. This opportunity presents investors with a chance to consider increased business activities during this extended holiday period.
