Employee Transfer for Efficiency Goals

Gotrade News - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa plans to relocate 213 employees from the Directorate General of Budget (DJA) to the Directorate General of Taxation (DJP) to address workforce shortages and prevent new hiring. This move is crucial to maintaining the efficiency of the national budget.

Purbaya revealed that there is a high demand for staff in the DJP, while there's excess personnel at the DJA. By reallocating resources within the Ministry of Finance, efficiency can be improved without increasing employee spending. Employees at the DJA are already experienced, making brief training sufficient.

This initiative is expected to strengthen the DJP without opening new recruitment channels, allowing national funds to be utilized more efficiently and avoiding overspending due to surplus staff in one directorate. Purbaya stressed that this transfer is the more logical approach.

Purbaya mentioned that the transferred employees are well-trained and highly educated, with most being graduates of a bachelor's degree or STAN. Consequently, the adjustment period in the DJP is anticipated to be brief, with training projected to last only one to two weeks.

Nevertheless, not everyone agrees with this plan. Some factions within the DJP prefer new recruitment. Still, Purbaya insists that a reassignment is the best option for efficiency's sake.

In his view, this transfer is more efficient than leaving surplus staff and then recruiting new personnel. This approach, he argues, will prevent unnecessary budget waste.

Purbaya is confident that the transfer can balance the need for manpower with budget efficiency, ensuring the DJP will have adequate human resources to fulfill tax-related duties.
