Gotrade News - The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed lower on Friday (March 27, 2026), falling by 0.94% to settle at 7,097. This marks the second consecutive day of decline following the Lebaran holiday.

This downturn is notable as it occurs just as the market resumes activities. However, the oil and gas sector defied the trend by posting gains, adding an interesting dynamic to the domestic stock trading landscape.

Today's trading volume reached 18.74 billion shares, with a transaction value of Rp 11.63 trillion, indicating that market activity remains robust despite the index being in the red.

A total of 292 issuers gained, while 396 stocks declined. The IHSG touched its lowest point at 7,070.21, serving as a signal for investors to exercise caution.

The energy sector, particularly oil and gas stocks, provided support with a 0.34% increase. This sector remains a viable option for investors seeking different choices amid a sluggish market.

In contrast, the infrastructure sector saw the deepest decline of 1.29%, followed by industrial and technology sectors, which dropped 1.27% and 0.97% respectively.

The healthcare sector also noted a moderate gain of 0.35%. This shift indicates a growing investor interest in defensive sectors amid market uncertainties.

Several stocks recorded significant gains, such as PT Nusantara Almazia Tbk, which skyrocketed by 34.72%, highlighting potential returns amidst market challenges.

Looking ahead, investors should consider the strengthening trends in the energy and healthcare sectors as potential investment opportunities with measured risks.
