Jakarta, Gotrade News - Neuralink is officially kicking off high-volume production for its brain interface devices this year, marking a major shift to industrial scale. This ramp-up is powered by a fully automated surgical procedure designed to make mass implantation way more efficient.

Key Takeaways

  • Mass production and automated surgery go full throttle in 2026.
  • The new method threads the device without removing the brain's protective layer.
  • Company valuation hits US$9 billion after the latest funding round.

Elon Musk, who also runs Tesla, Inc., mentioned that the new process punches through the dura without needing to remove it. The dura is that tough outer tissue protecting the brain and spinal cord.

In a post on X, Musk made it clear that this automated system is set to be the company's new standard.

Trial participants are now estimated to have hit 20 people, a solid jump from just 12 back in September. Data from Elon Chron shows this growth tracks with the expanding clinical trials for patients with physical paralysis.

Right now, these patients are actively using the implants to control computer cursors and robotic arms with just their thoughts.

On the money side, Neuralink secured US$650 million in Series E funding last June. This fresh capital pushes the neurotech firm's valuation to an estimated US$9 billion.

This aggressive expansion comes after the company sorted out safety concerns previously flagged by the US FDA.

The main goal remains restoring autonomy for folks with spinal cord injuries or severe neurological conditions.
