Gotrade News - PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) has confirmed that two of their tankers have successfully exited the conflict zones in the Middle East. The tankers, PIS Rinjani and PIS Paragon, have now safely continued their voyages, positively impacting national energy supply security.

Pertamina Ships Exit Safely

Previously, these ships were located in high-risk areas, with the PIS Rinjani in Khor Fakkan, United Arab Emirates, and the PIS Paragon in Oman. Following the escalation of conflict in the region, the ships have been evacuated and are now safe. Acting Corporate Secretary of PIS, Vega Pita, stated that they successfully exited the danger zone on March 10, 2026.

Out of the four PIS ships operating in the region, two remain in the Arabian Gulf. The VLCC Pertamina Pride and Gamsunoro have yet to cross the Strait of Hormuz. This situation is being closely monitored to ensure they can continue their journeys safely.

Impact on Energy Supply

The successful evacuation of these two ships showcases PIS's commitment to maintaining national energy resilience. Although Pertamina Pride and Gamsunoro are still unable to proceed, proactive measures have been implemented to meet domestic energy needs. Vega Pita emphasized that efforts are ongoing to ensure the safe passage of the ships.

The situation in the Middle East demands increased vigilance, especially around strategic routes like the Strait of Hormuz. With two ships having successfully exited, the risk of disrupted energy distribution is minimized, further ensuring the stability of PT Pertamina's logistics operations.

The primary focus remains on crew safety and the continuity of energy supply, which is the company's priority. Through meticulous monitoring and effective evacuation strategies, PIS demonstrates agility in managing crisis situations.
