Gotrade News - The filing of Annual Income Tax Returns for the 2025 Tax Year reached 9,751,452 by 03/29/2026. This figure indicates significant progress in tax administration, as reported by the DJP.
Individual taxpayers dominated the filings, with employees numbering 8,562,326, followed by 988,464 non-employees. Corporate filings amounted to 198,788 in rupiah and 140 in US dollars.
For businesses with different fiscal years, the filings recorded were 1,713 in rupiah and 21 in US dollars. Amidst these achievements, the DJP has extended the tax return filing deadline to April 30, 2026.
Beyond tax filings, Coretax account activations reached 17,189,768, reflecting an increase in the digital tax transition. Most accounts were activated by individual taxpayers, totaling 16,135,564.
In adapting to changes, the government extended the deadline to accommodate taxpayers during this transition. The Finance Minister set the new deadline to ensure compliance without penalties.
During this extension, late submissions will not incur administrative penalties. This includes the removal of previously issued penalties.
This policy provides flexibility amidst tax system changes, accompanied by waiving fines for submissions after the initial deadline.
The government emphasizes that payment and filing must still be completed before the new deadline to avoid potential sanctions. However, until April 30, there is leniency without penalties.
The tax authorities are using this relaxation period to reassess the system and provide certainty for taxpayers. This is a proactive step to align with current economic dynamics.
