Trading was busier than usual, with 43.1 million shares changing hands, 18.27% more than the 36.5 million-share average.
The gain stood out on a weak day for technology shares. The Nasdaq Composite fell 1.07% to 25,164.36 and the S&P 500 slipped 0.51% to 7,541.40, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.41% to 51,983.98. Among large-cap peers, Nvidia (NVDA) lost 1.26%, Apple dropped 1.83% and Microsoft (MSFT) fell 2.83%. Tesla announced the expansion itself. Its official Robotaxi account posted on Sunday night, "Robotaxi available in Fort Worth starting tomorrow, 6am," as reported by TeslaNorth, which described Fort Worth as the service's fourth Texas city after Austin, Dallas and Houston. The launch map Tesla shared shows one zone centered on downtown, reaching toward Saginaw in the north and Benbrook in the southwest.
Investor's Business Daily linked the session to the new robotaxi city, reporting that Tesla stock rose about 1% on Monday as its rally continued. According to Azat TV, which cited a company social media announcement, the Fort Worth geofence covers 143 square miles and brings the service to seven cities across Texas and Florida. It is the first new city since Orlando and Tampa joined in July 2026, the outlet added.
TSLA Stock Analysis: Supporting Factors and Risks
Supporting Factors
Fort Worth gives the Robotaxi service a second foothold in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to TeslaNorth, and widens a network that Azat TV counts at seven cities.
In a FreightWaves interview published on November 2, Cristiano Façanha of Smart Freight Centre said the Z-Scale shipper alliance chose Tesla as primary supplier for an order of 2,500 battery-electric Class 8 trucks, citing the Semi's range, pricing and verified production capacity.
Volume ran 18.27% above average as Tesla closed higher on a day the Nasdaq fell.
Risks
Tesla's post did not say how many vehicles serve Fort Worth, whether rides carry a safety monitor, or what they cost, TeslaNorth noted.
Azat TV described Tesla's operating fleet as modest next to Waymo, which it said runs roughly 4,000 vehicles across about ten metro areas.
The Z-Scale alliance also prequalified Kenworth, Bright/BYD and Volvo for carriers that prefer other truck makers, per FreightWaves.
