Hey Gotraders!

We’ve got some major news regarding your holdings in Unilever (UL).

As of December 8, 2025, Unilever has officially completed a Spin-off for its subsidiary, The Magnum Ice Cream Company N.V. (MICC).

Here’s the lowdown on what this means for your investment portfolio.

So, What’s Happening?

A Spin-off is basically when a company decides to separate a part of its business into a brand-new, standalone entity.

In this case, Unilever is separating its Magnum ice cream unit into a new public company with the ticker MICC. The good news? As a parent shareholder (UL), you’re entitled to receive shares of this new company.

How This Hits Your Gotrade Portfolio

Since this is a Spin-off, here is exactly what’s changing in your account:

1. The Exchange Ratio

For every 1 share of Unilever (UL) that you own, you’re getting an extra 0.2 shares of The Magnum Ice Cream Company (MICC).

Let’s do the math: Say you currently own 10 shares of UL.

10 shares (UL) x 0.2 (Ratio) = 2 shares of MICC.

So now, you’ll have your original 10 shares of UL plus 2 new shares of MICC sitting in your portfolio.

2. Status of Your Old Shares

Don’t worry, your Unilever (UL) shares aren’t going anywhere. The quantity remains exactly the same. The only thing changing is the addition of the new stock (MICC) and a market value adjustment to reflect the business separation.

Action Required

Zero action needed from your side. The whole process is automatic. You’ll see the updated share count and the new ticker (MICC) pop up in your Gotrade app under the Portfolio tab immediately. Your total portfolio value now includes your positions in both stocks (UL and MICC) based on the current market price.
