Schwab Emerging Markets Equity ETF tracks the FTSE Emerging Index, which is composed of large- and midcap companies in emerging market countries, as classified by FTSE. Stocks are selected and weighted by market cap. The index does not consider South Korea as an emerging market, a significant point of divergence from other similar indices. Countries such as India and China get more weight instead.
