NVIDIA (NVDA) pays $0.25 per share each quarter, or $1.00 a year, which works out to a dividend yield of about 0.46% at the October 27, 2026 close, according to StockAnalysis. The next ex-dividend date has not been declared yet; the most recent one was September 10, 2026.
The NVIDIA dividend changed character in 2026. For about two years the chipmaker paid a token $0.01 per share each quarter, from June 2024 to April 2026 in StockAnalysis's split-adjusted history.
On May 18, 2026, NVIDIA increased its quarterly cash dividend to $0.25 per share, a 25-fold step, as stated in its Form 10-Q for the quarter ended April 26, 2026. The first payment at the new rate was made on June 26, 2026, per its first-quarter fiscal 2027 results release. Even after the raise, the yield is small relative to the share price, and dividends remain the smaller part of what NVIDIA returns to shareholders.
NVIDIA Dividend Snapshot: $0.25 a Quarter, 0.46% Yield
The table below collects the current NVIDIA dividend figures. The declared amount and dates come from NVIDIA's second-quarter fiscal 2027 results release of August 26, 2026; the yield, annual rate and payout ratio come from StockAnalysis, checked on October 27, 2026.
| Item | Figure | Source and freshness |
|---|
| Quarterly dividend per share | $0.25 | NVIDIA, declared August 26, 2026 |
| Annual dividend rate | $1.00 (4 x $0.25) | StockAnalysis, October 27, 2026 |
| Dividend yield | 0.46% | StockAnalysis, on the $217.94 close of October 27, 2026 |
| Most recent ex-dividend and record date | September 10, 2026 | NVIDIA (record date), StockAnalysis (ex-date) |
| Most recent payment date | October 1, 2026 | NVIDIA |
| Payout ratio | 6.58% | StockAnalysis, October 27, 2026 |
| Payment frequency | Quarterly | StockAnalysis |
| Next ex-dividend date | Not yet declared | As of October 28, 2026 |
A yield of 0.46% means the current annual dividend rate of $1.00 a share equals about 0.46% of a share price near $218. StockAnalysis also lists one-year dividend growth of 1,200%, a figure driven by the single jump from $0.01 to $0.25 a quarter rather than by a series of gradual raises.
NVDA Payout History 2022 to 2026: From $0.004 to $0.25 a Quarter
NVIDIA's dividend was flat for long stretches before its two raises. The table uses StockAnalysis's dividend history, which adjusts past amounts for stock splits, so older payments appear as fractions of a cent. Yearly totals sum the payments listed for each year.
| Calendar year | Quarterly dividend per share (split-adjusted) | Total paid per share in the year | Trend |
|---|
| 2022 | $0.004 | $0.016 | Flat |
| 2023 | $0.004 | $0.016 | Flat |
| 2024 | $0.004, then $0.010 from June | $0.034 | Raised |
| 2025 | $0.010 | $0.040 | Flat at the new rate |
| 2026 (through October 1) | $0.010, then $0.25 from June | $0.51 (three payments) | Raised 25-fold |
Two points stand out. First, NVIDIA has not cut its per-share dividend in the period shown; every change has been an increase. Second, the 2026 step dwarfs everything before it: the three payments made in 2026 through October 1 total $0.51 per share, more than the $0.106 paid across 2022 to 2025 combined, based on the same StockAnalysis figures.
NVIDIA Payout Ratio: About 10% of Q2 Earnings, 28% of Q2 Free Cash Flow
A payout ratio shows how much of a company's profit or cash flow goes out as dividends. StockAnalysis lists NVIDIA's payout ratio at 6.58%. Because the higher rate only began in June 2026, a quarter paid fully at $0.25 gives a cleaner read.
Per NVIDIA's second-quarter fiscal 2027 release, the company paid $6,047 million in dividends in the quarter ended July 26, 2026, against GAAP net income of $59,688 million and free cash flow of $21,341 million.
That puts dividends at about 10.1% of quarterly net income and about 28.3% of quarterly free cash flow. On a per-share basis, the $0.25 dividend compares with GAAP diluted earnings per share of $2.46 for the same quarter.
| Period | Dividends paid | GAAP net income | Free cash flow | Dividends as % of net income | Dividends as % of free cash flow |
|---|
| Fiscal 2025 | $834 million | $72,880 million | $60,724 million | 1.1% | 1.4% |
| Fiscal 2026 | $974 million | $120,067 million | $96,575 million | 0.8% | 1.0% |
| First half of fiscal 2027 (six months to July 26, 2026) | $6,290 million | $118,010 million | $69,895 million | 5.3% | 9.0% |
| Fiscal Q2 2027 (quarter to July 26, 2026) | $6,047 million | $59,688 million | $21,341 million | 10.1% | 28.3% |
Dollar figures come from NVIDIA's fourth-quarter and fiscal 2026 results release and its second-quarter fiscal 2027 results release; the percentages were calculated by Gotrade from those reported figures.
Three more points from the same sources:
- Cash flow can swing. Free cash flow was $21,341 million in fiscal Q2 2027 against $69,895 million for the first half, which means the first quarter generated about $48.6 billion. In a weaker cash quarter, the same dividend takes a much larger share of free cash flow, as the 28.3% Q2 figure shows.
- Buybacks are the larger lever. In fiscal Q2 2027, NVIDIA spent $19,732 million on share repurchases and $6,047 million on dividends, returning approximately $26.0 billion in total, and had approximately $99.0 billion left under its repurchase authorization, per its results release. As reported by The Motley Fool, NVIDIA plans to return 50% or more of free cash flow, net of strategic uses, through buybacks and dividends.
- Cash, securities and guidance. As of July 26, 2026, NVIDIA reported $22,443 million in cash and cash equivalents and $34,143 million in marketable debt securities, per the same release, and it guided third-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue of $108.0 billion, plus or minus 2%.
None of this guarantees future payments. NVIDIA's 10-Q states that the payment of future cash dividends is subject to its Board of Directors' continuing determination that the declaration of dividends is in the best interests of its shareholders.
Compared with two other large technology dividend payers, Broadcom and Microsoft, NVIDIA's yield and payout ratio are both lower, according to StockAnalysis data checked on October 27, 2026 (Broadcom, Microsoft).
| Company | Annual dividend per share | Dividend yield | Payout ratio | Most recent ex-dividend date |
|---|
| NVIDIA (NVDA) | $1.00 | 0.46% | 6.58% | September 10, 2026 |
| Broadcom (AVGO) | $2.60 | 0.76% | 33.19% | September 21, 2026 |
| Microsoft (MSFT) | $3.92 | 0.74% | 21.84% | August 20, 2026 |
The lower payout ratio means NVIDIA pays out a smaller share of its earnings than these two peers on StockAnalysis's measure. It does not, by itself, say which stock fits a particular income goal.
Next NVIDIA Ex-Dividend Date: Not Declared Yet
As of October 28, 2026, NVIDIA had not declared its next quarterly dividend. In 2026, the company announced each dividend in its quarterly results release, the $0.01 payment in its fiscal 2026 release of February 25, 2026, the raise to $0.25 in its first-quarter fiscal 2027 release of May 20, 2026, and the October 1 payment in its second-quarter release of August 26, 2026.
In the past two years, the December ex-dividend date fell on December 5, 2024 and December 4, 2025, according to StockAnalysis. Those dates are history, not a forecast for 2026.
The ex-dividend date is the cut-off that decides who receives a declared dividend. A buyer must own the shares before the ex-dividend date to receive the payment. Someone who buys on or after that date does not receive that dividend, which stays with the seller.
In StockAnalysis's history, NVIDIA's ex-dividend date and record date have fallen on the same day since June 2024, for example September 10, 2026 for the payment made on October 1, 2026.
